January 20th, 2013 - It's Snowing...

I guess it's time for an update, as it has been over a month since I wrote last. The truth is I just haven't felt like sharing, or writing. There are so many words but I just felt like I couldn't express myself with them at the time. Meanwhile, Christmas has past, and it was wonderful. Did you have a good Christmas? Or if you don't celebrate Christmas, did you have a good month?

Well, anyway, I did. My Christmas was great, it felt so amazing to see all my friends and my family again, and it reminded me of just how much I miss them when I'm gone. I didn't really think about it last semester because everything was new and different and there were so many things to explore and experience here. But now it's like a gift that has lost it's new-ness, I no longer feel as excited as I did before Christmas, I mean I love this city, don't get me wrong, it's just the routine of everything I do gets to me, and I miss home a little. I miss my family and my friends, I miss the small town-feel, the fact that I know all the streets and I never get lost, I miss the local coffee shop that serves mochas that taste like heaven. I just miss it, you know?

But that's ok too, because I know that in a little while I'll get over it and I'll see things differently again, it's just hard at times. Anyway, now that the second semester has started I am getting into reading again, because if you did not know, I love to read and I am also studying English Literature, so that is kind of part of the subject and I am finally getting out of the reading slump I've been in the past six months and it feels awesome. So right now I am reading a book called Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys for class, as well as the sequel to City of Bones, called City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. Both of which are books I recommend that you check out, although if you want to read Wide Sargasso Sea I recommend that you read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte first because it is based on one of the characters in that book.

Btw, it is snowing here in London and I don't really know how I feel about that. So for now I am going to relax with a cup of cocoa and a good book. Have a nice day!
