January 20th, 2013 - It's Snowing...

I guess it's time for an update, as it has been over a month since I wrote last. The truth is I just haven't felt like sharing, or writing. There are so many words but I just felt like I couldn't express myself with them at the time. Meanwhile, Christmas has past, and it was wonderful. Did you have a good Christmas? Or if you don't celebrate Christmas, did you have a good month?

Well, anyway, I did. My Christmas was great, it felt so amazing to see all my friends and my family again, and it reminded me of just how much I miss them when I'm gone. I didn't really think about it last semester because everything was new and different and there were so many things to explore and experience here. But now it's like a gift that has lost it's new-ness, I no longer feel as excited as I did before Christmas, I mean I love this city, don't get me wrong, it's just the routine of everything I do gets to me, and I miss home a little. I miss my family and my friends, I miss the small town-feel, the fact that I know all the streets and I never get lost, I miss the local coffee shop that serves mochas that taste like heaven. I just miss it, you know?

But that's ok too, because I know that in a little while I'll get over it and I'll see things differently again, it's just hard at times. Anyway, now that the second semester has started I am getting into reading again, because if you did not know, I love to read and I am also studying English Literature, so that is kind of part of the subject and I am finally getting out of the reading slump I've been in the past six months and it feels awesome. So right now I am reading a book called Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys for class, as well as the sequel to City of Bones, called City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. Both of which are books I recommend that you check out, although if you want to read Wide Sargasso Sea I recommend that you read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte first because it is based on one of the characters in that book.

Btw, it is snowing here in London and I don't really know how I feel about that. So for now I am going to relax with a cup of cocoa and a good book. Have a nice day!

INSPIRATION IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS ABOUT LIFE, WHY LIVE IF YOU ARE NOT INSPIRED?

Recently I became the proud owner of  "Wreck This Journal" by Keri Smith. It is a book/journal in which you are given different tasks to literally, wreck this journal. It is all about creativity and focusing on the good things about life, the positive, and it is wonderfully weird, the tasks are random and strange at times, but they are fun, and creative, and I find that I am more inspired to be creative myself. I have fallen in love with the journal and I do bring it with me wherever I go because that is part of the fun, having it with you so you can sit down and open it up to a random page and enjoy it. Enjoy being in that moment, a moment where you can create something new, whether it be a drawing or a poking holes in a page.
I also bought this awesome notebook, it will work as my journal from now on, I just feel like starting one, because it's nice to have something to look back at, somewhere you put down everything you're thinking at that moment, much like a blog really, just a little bit more personal.
..and last I bought this book "How to be an Explorer of the World", this is also by Keri Smith, and it has some of the same qualities as "Wreck This Journal", only it focuses more on observing the world around you. Really looking, and I really like the thought of that.

I know that I really enjoy both these books, and maybe you will to, at any rate I recommend you go by a bookstore and take a look at them yourself, because they are fun and creative.

BEAUTIFUL WORDS BY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE.

I wanted to take the time to recommend a few of my absolute favourite blogs at the moment to you. These are blogs I love. I love the writing, the pictures, everything. The feeling these people put into their blog, the honesty is just amazing, truly inspiring.

Tigrlily - unfortunatly, this blog is written in Norwegian, so all of you will not be able to read it and for that I am sorry, because this girl, this girl knows how to write. Her blog posts are so honest and raw with feeling, it's unreal, so if you can read norwegian, go read this blog because it is truly such an amazing amazing blog. It is art. The words, the pictures, all of it.

A taster for you:
Le Love - This is a blog that is made up of readers submissions, and it's fantastic, it talks about relationships in such an honest way. The fact that there are so many different people writing and posting on it makes every post something special, which is amazing because you see all kinds of people's point of view on love, it is beautiful.

A taster for you:
"1 year, 1 month, and 10 days ago me and my current boyfriend started dating. It’s a long distance relationship, though, the best relationship I’ve had in my short life. He’s been a dream to me, and I have never met anybody willing to risk everything for someone else. He’s head over heels madly in love with me. I love him back, so much. We have planned our lives together. We have planned to move in together, when I start university, and when he graduates from university. Everything is perfect. Though, lately I have been feeling more of an obligation to be with him. I have been feeling like he depends on me too much, and I depend on him, and I’m just used to having him in my life. I feel like I can’t break up with him, because I would be letting my parents down, my sister down, my friends down, and everyone else who are so convinced that one day, him and I will get married and live happily ever after..."
I am going to leave it at that, but I really recommend you check these out, they are so worth the read. Now, if you have any blogs you think I would like, I would love to hear from you, because I know you're there, so raise your voice and leave a little comment, I would love to know what you think
